Apricity Counseling is an out-of-network provider, which means that all payments are due at the time of service. Some insurance carriers and plans may offer reimbursement for out-of-network services. I provide a superbill to you each month that you can use to pursue potential reimbursement. I encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about out-of-network benefits and the process of submitting claims.

approaches

I know it can be really daunting to step into a new experience – especially one where you’re going to explore things you may usually keep to yourself. I aim to approach each conversation with gentleness and curiosity, and I try to help YOU work towards that as well. I’ll be honest – I don’t know exactly what will and what won’t work best for you, but we can explore areas of struggle and work towards your goals together by identifying and experimenting with new or different mindsets, perspectives, and behaviors. Ultimately, while I value the serious and sacred space that therapy can be, I also strongly believe there is a place for lightheartedness and humor along the way.

I also believe it’s important to be physically comfortable in therapy. If that means being in the comfort of your own home, virtual therapy might be for you! If you’d rather be in-person, I do my best to provide a cozy and welcoming space - grab a bottle of water, a mug of coffee or tea, and a snack - cozy up with a blanket - play with one (or all…) of my fidget toys - or even work on a craft (bring your own, or I try to have one ongoing for clients to work on)!

I don’t want to overwhelm you with technical terms, but if you’re interested in the nitty-gritty, here are some of the approaches I take in therapy sessions so you can get an idea of how we may work towards healing. Click each topic to learn more–
