Parents, Kids, & Body Image

You’ve always had a complicated relationship with food or your body.

Maybe you’ve put it on the back burner because you had so many others things to worry about…

...But now you’re a parent.

And you want to make sure you don’t pass on the harmful messages you learned to your kids.

So now what??

While I can’t promise to have a foolproof formula for raising kids with a healthy body image -  (hi, fellow parent-to-young-children here, just doing my best!) - I have a lot to offer. Whether you have an infant, toddler, elementary schooler, teenager… this is for you!

The work I do with parents is built on two important premises:

  • YOU - as a parent, as a human - deserve to have a better relationship with your own body, all on your own

AND

  • The kids in our lives are watching and learning - how we relate to our own bodies is a major factor in the development of our kids’ body image

Let’s go from feeling…

  • solely responsible for your child’s body image

  • guilty about the ways in which your own relationship with your body may have had a negative impact on your child

  • fearful about doing or saying the “wrong” thing

To working towards…

  • Increased awareness of how your own “stuff” may affect your kids

  • Feeling empowered that you can make a difference

  • Confidence in your ability to make a difference with specific techniques and concepts about food and body

I also can work directly with kids & teens (as my schedule allows - summer is a great time for that!)
